FOREVER
Ranndrews
April 21, 2018
It was one of those beautiful April days that gives you hope for summer's approach. After a morning of lounging on our deck and stuffing our faces with our favorite bacon, egg, and cheese sandwiches, we decided to go to Bushwick Inlet Park to play our game: catch. As it turns out, kids like to play soccer in a wide open park on a sunny day. After watching some of the games and drooling through the adjacent Smorgasburg, we decided to walk to McCarren Park for a take two.
We settled into an open spot and quickly got into a stride. After a few tosses and a Nick bathroom break, Marissa noticed that her throw was caught by a glove holding two baseballs: one worn-in from years of play and another fresh, bright-white. She questioned it, but moved on when he said that he forgot he bought a new one. That is....until she caught it. Marissa noticed a scribble across the new baseball. Cluelessly, she turned it over to see if it was a slogan or logo, but realized that the scribble was in the familiar serial killer handwriting of her mayun (translation: man).
Will you play catch with me forever?
Marissa glanced in Nick's direction. Her disbelief was met with his nodding head. They laughed nervously together as he presented the best ring ever and got down on one knee - and then back up very quickly! Nick proclaimed, "I'm so nervous," and Marissa repeated, "Is this for real?!"
And we were feeawnsays!
(translation: fiancés!)
